Anya Zholud Parquet and Scaffolding

Scaffolding – modular multisectional metal construction – which gives us an example of building “simple forms”. Contours draw a bookstand collected from a multitude of rectiliniar elements. These quite separate objects develop into an abstract rythmic noise which becomes a metaphysical self-sufficient structure.
Parquet is in a state of resistance, liberated from both its function and aestethics. Anti-floor, anti-cover... Only the essence remains – the structure of cells, filled with air and emptiness.
The work contains a release from any semantic or spatial fulfilment. The transparence and ephemerality of the constructions are opposed to the sturdiness of the contours and the brutality of the material.
